Welcome new students, current students and families! Teaching the harp had always been a dream of mine and now I have been teaching in the Minneapolis area for 6 years! What a wonderful journey this has been! As a child, my mother, Janell Lemire, taught the harp in our home and I would often hear her working with students, helping them grow as musicians and individuals. I came to Minneapolis to study with Kathy Kienzle, principal harpist of the Minnesota Orchestra, teacher at Mac Phail Center for Music, and instructor at the University of MN. She encouraged my teaching and I continued my study in the summer, attending teacher training with Mary Kay Waddington, the founder of the Suzuki Harp Method. I am an accredited Suzuki Harp Teacher of Book1, 2 and 3 and am planning to attend the new Book 4 training in May of 2010. Teaching the harp to children and adults, I see the enjoyment learning the harp can be to all ages and musical ability levels. I see so much growth, not only musically and aurally but also in many other areas of my students’ lives. I am so happy to be working with all of you.  Let’s get harping!!!

Information For New and Interested Harp Students:
I  teach at  Stoney End Harps, Hobgoblin Music Store in Northeast Minneapolis all day on Monday. For students unavailable on Mondays, I can make accommodations to meet a students needs on an individual basis. Students take lessons weekly and pay a monthly fee. The lessons are divided into Semesters, with a Summer Session from June through August. Beginning harp lessons are one half-hour. Students learn the Suzuki Harp repertoire to build technique and prepare them for group participation, and occasional recitals. I also encourage students to pick their own music of interest for reading, performance, and just for fun!
